COVID-19 Policy/Procedures Update

Ohio Governor Mike DeWine announced that beginning May 1, 2020, healthcare providers may return to providing routine patient care while adhering to strict infection control practices.

We want to provide a safe environment for your care. With that in mind, we will be screening patients, visitors and staff members for symptoms of COVID-19 at the time of scheduling and upon their arrival to our office. We will be utilizing a non-contact thermometer to document temperatures of all staff, patients and visitors. Patients and visitors exhibiting signs of COVID-19 will be asked to reschedule their appointment. To limit capacity and meet social distancing guidelines, we ask that companions remain outside unless they are the parent/guardian of the patient, or if they are a care giver and need to assist the patient. We have also established an appropriate timeframe in between patient appointments to facilitate patient flow and prevent too many people in the office at a given time. When possible, we offer curbside dispensing of glasses or contacts if preferred. Just call our office from the parking lot.

We will be taking steps to help prevent the spread of the virus through infection control measures and disinfection practices. We will continue to maintain good hygiene such as hand washing and cleaning and sanitizing our office throughout the day. Doctors and staff will continue to wash their hands and disinfect exam chairs and all equipment between each patient encounter. Additionally, we will regularly disinfect commonly touched surfaces such as workstations, counters, door handles, clipboards, pens, chairs and other public surface areas. Hand sanitizer and hand washing stations are readily available for our staff and patients throughout the office. Our optical staff will take care in handling eyeglass frames and other products to limit opportunities for the transfer of the virus. They will assist in selecting frames and utilize a tray receptacle to separate your selection from the other eyeglass frames. When you have completed your selection process, our opticians will disinfect each pair of frames following CDC guidance on disinfection, before replacing them on display. Staff will be wearing face masks and we ask that patients and visitors wear their own mask or cloth face covering upon arrival to the office.

We promise to do all that we can to protect our patients and staff, but as a reminder, we ask that you use cough and sneeze etiquette and practice regular hand hygiene. Please stay at home if you are ill. If you are 65 or older, have a high-risk condition or are immunocompromised, we encourage you to be especially careful. We understand if you choose to postpone your routine eyecare.

We will be returning to regular business hours beginning Monday May 4th 2020.

Monday, Thursday and Friday from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM
Tuesday and Wednesday from 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM
Saturday from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM

If you have any questions please feel free to call our office at 740-454-6283. We look forward to seeing our patient family again. Stay safe and well!
